Lincoln City and Newport’s Chamber of Commerce have partnered with Oregon Coast Community College’s Small Business Development Center for “Business over Burgers” starting this month.
The first session is set for Monday, July 12, from noon to 1 p.m. at OCCC’s north campus in Lincoln City, 3788 SE High School Drive. The event will allow business owners to meet and greet while they enjoy burgers and learn the latest happenings in the business world. Oregon State Senator Dick Anderson (R-Central Coast) and House Rep. David Gomberg (D-Central Coast) will be giving a special presentation recapping the recently ended legislative session.
“We’re excited to welcome the business community back to campus and our SBDC offices,” said Dave Price, OCCC’s Vice President for Engagement and Entrepreneurship, a role that includes oversight of the Small Business Development Center. “The pandemic hit our county hard, and events like this will lay the foundation for recovery, as people get to meet in person once again, and have the opportunity to share best practices, to learn more about how the recovery is going in various parts of our county.”
“Business over Burgers” will take place at noon on the second and fourth Mondays of July and August at OCCC locations in Newport and Lincoln City. Plans for future meetings will focus on topics such as cyber security, economic development and how businesses survived the pandemic.
