Oregon Coast mountains snow

National Weather Service Portland issued a Winter Weather Advisory for the Coast Range Friday, calling for significant freezing rain, sleet and snow tonight through Saturday.

The alert, sent out at 9:36 a.m. Friday, details a storm arriving Friday night with the potential for freezing rain which could make travel difficult for those heading to the Central Willamette Valley and the Portland Metro area.

The North Oregon Coast, including Astoria, Cannon Beach, Tillamook, Netarts and Pacific City, is expected to receive snow and accumulations of ice, making travel to those location potentially hazardous as well.

NWS says to slow down and use caution while driving and residents should prepare for power outages.
