Taft High School Cheerleaders made $932 towards a $3,000 goal to get to cheer camp Sunday at Les Schwab Tire Center

Taft High School Cheerleading operated a fundraiser car wash out of Les Schwab Tire Center Sunday afternoon, making over $900 in donations in just three hours.

Former varsity cheerleader turned Coach Desi Clausing said her team washed their way to $932, one-third of a $3,000 goal set to get to cheer camp.

“I couldn’t be more proud of such an amazing team and all the hard work they have put towards working together,” she said.

Clausing approached Les Schwab and asked if cheerleaders could stage the car wash at the business. According to Clausing, the manager, John, said “yes, absolutely.” Tiger detailers took over the tire center noon-3 p.m. Sunday.

Assistant Coach Nicole Sperry —recently a Taft varsity cheerleader— said people were showing up in droves as multiple cars sat patiently for a turn in the tire bay so the team could fight grime and raise cheer camp funds.

  1. GREAT work gals nice to see making your way to cheer camp instead of depending on others. Doing things together makes a lot better feeling when making your goals knowing you did it all. Keep going all the way gals was out of town over weekend hope to make next event for ya. Maybe our good old homepage will donate an announcement of when and where the next event will be held.
