In a compelling video captured by and posted to the Lincoln City Homepage Community Facebook page by Eric Johnson the suspect can be seen handcuffed and lying face down on the wet asphalt of Hwy 101 outside of a vehicle.

Brownfield Advisory Committee has first meeting

Remediation of contaminated land can be a time and money consuming process that may, essentially, destroy the value of a parcel of land and threaten the worth of neighboring property-depending on the type of contamination present and whether there is a threat of it spreading via ground water or runoff. Thanks to a grant that Lincoln City applied for and received a few years ago, the city has partnered with environmental consultants from Maul Foster & Longi and Akana. Together with oversite from Economic Development and Urban Renewal Director Alison Robertson and Economic Development Project manager Seth Lenaerts, the BAC hopes to help identify heretofore unmarked properties that could benefit from analysis of their condition.

The city of Lincoln City announced several volunteer vacancies on committees, boards and  planning commission.

Lincoln City to receive 100k grant for new park

Lincoln City Parks and Recreation department announced that Travel Oregon has awarded  a $100k grant to build a new accessible playground in the newly created park in the Taft district. According to the Parks and Recreation department the accessible playground will be the first of its kind on the Oregon Coast, and provide independent play to persons of all abilities and ages.

Waters on the rise

A quick drive around the area shows dramatic water level rise. Places like the Siletz river have turned to a torrent of brown as churning waters mix with mud as it heads to the Pacific ocean.
