Event Info: Newport, Oregon, 6/30/26 – The third annual Community Repair Fair will be held on Saturday, August 1st from 10am – 2pm at Oregon State University’s Hatfield Marine Science Center in Newport. Hosted by Oregon Sea Grant, the Hatfield Innovation Lab, and the HMSC Green Team, this free public event offers opportunities for coastal residents to get their broken household items repaired at no cost, as well as gain skills to make their own repairs.

Give your favorite things a chance for continued use instead of sending them to the landfill. Do you have a broken small appliance? Have you discovered a rip in your clothing or other fabric item? Did your lamp stop working? Does your bicycle need attention? Bring it to the Repair Fair!

How it works: Members of the public are invited to bring in broken household items to the Repair Fair and get matched with a volunteer “Expert Fixer” who will attempt a repair. Most people stay with their item during its repair to learn about the process. The event will also feature skills demos and DIY repair activities throughout the day, and community organizations will be on hand to share sustainability resources and waste reduction strategies.
