Multi-agency task force fighting Echo Mountain Fire

According to Oregon Department of Forestry (ODF) officials, the Echo Mountain fire is complex, and crews from ODF, Toledo, Newport, Depoe Bay and Lincoln City are combating the nearly hundred acre blaze. Firefighters are doing their job as it is safe to do so. The fire is not contained at this time.

Department of Forestry controlled burn today at Cascade Head

Oregon Department of Forestry will execute a controlled natural habitat burn starting at 10 a.m. today at the top of Cascade Head.

Human-caused Oregon forest blazes decreased in peak August fire season

While the peak August fire season brought 839 blazes and burned 69,600 acres of Oregon land, there was a reduction in human-caused fires in comparison to the 10-year average.
