The Oregon Health Authority (OHA) issued a public health advisory today for higher-than-normal levels of bacteria in ocean waters at Agate Beach, Beverly Beach and Seal Rock State Park Beach in Lincoln County.

National Weather Service Portland has issued a Special Weather Statement for possible sneaker waves in Lincoln City and Oregon Coast beaches Tuesday.

Lincoln City had a visitor from Normandy, France last month named Halim, who said the city was beautiful and he would be back next year because, "The Pacific coast of the state of Oregon is amazing and very spectacular."

The Oregon Health Authority (OHA) today lifted a public health advisory for contact with marine water at Agate Beach and Seal Rock State Park Beach, both in Lincoln County, and Harris Beach, in Curry County.

A pressurized sewer line ruptured around 9 a.m. Friday underneath Logan Road causing an estimated 1,000 gallons of sewage to be discharged through a storm water culvert onto the beach at Roads End State Park. 

D River State Park in Lincoln City is among five beaches in Lincoln County and 18 statewide under consideration for monitoring for pollution and water quality as part of the Oregon Health Authority's Beach Monitoring Program (OBMP).

As the needle broke 70 degrees today, Lincoln City beaches were filled with people enjoying the wonderful weather.

When visiting the scenic Oregon coast and participating in recreational activities, safety should be a prime concern.

The National Weather Service issued a special weather statement alerting the Oregon and Washington Coasts of an increased risk of sneaker waves for Sunday and hardly anyone on the beach knows it.

While it may only be 48 degrees in Lincoln City, people are on the beaches enjoying the brief respite from winter storms.
