Right Repairs 2654 SE Highway 101 was engulfed in flames as multiple engines were called forth to fight the blaze.

Firefighters rush to smoke call at local business

As the firefighters bravely rushed in-some forgoing breathing apparatus-to render aid, employees lingered outside waiting for the all clear sign.

A view to a lake

And like the end of a ride, there is silence. No birds calling, no breeze rustling branches.  No people talking about their day.  Just silence as the fog like a night of thick falling snow dampens every sound around and I'm forced, visually, to simply take in what is before my eyes and slowly breath it in and out.

Devils Lake Water Quality Report July 23, 2024

According to the latest water quality report for July 23, 2024 from the Devils Lake Water Improvement District (DLWID), all areas tested are "green" meaning low risk with water temps between 70-74 degrees. Results are posted at DLWID.org. According to a news release from DLWID, "At this time, there seems to be an abundance of algae in the water. If you see blue-green (turquoise) algae, please report to [email protected]. For a list of all active cyanotoxin advisories visit the Oregon Health Authority (OHA) website."

Counterfeit bills showing up in Lincoln City

It was a weekend for counterfeit bills to visit Lincoln City. The Lincoln City Police Department (LCPD) reported three separate instances of fake $100, $5 and $1 bills used or attempted to be used at the Chinook Winds Casino Resort on Sunday July 14. According to reports no arrests were made nor suspects noted.

Boat parade returns to Devils Lake in Lincoln City Oregon

As over 50 boats of every make and model gathered near Regatta park at 4p.m. people waved back and forth between the crafts with occasional shouts of "Happy Fourth of July!" A classic pontoon boat still emblazoned with "Blue Heron Landing" on its side lead the route around the lake. As all the boats trailed respectfully behind there truly was an air of happiness at being together again after so long an absence.
