  1. I am not in favor of any water rate increase. First it seems to me that no one can explain or make sense out of this new increase. Second no one cane explain why an increase is needed or what it is for. The city council with in the last year passed in increase for water of 6% and sewer of 6%. Because I live in an apartment and am on a yearly lease I am charged by the gallon for the water that I use. I’m not complaining about that. By because of your last increase my monthly out go for water has changed for .17 to .20 cents a gallon. That amounts to between $4.00 and $10.00 a month more. I didn’t get a raise on my social security check that will cover all of your increases. I’m sure I’m not the only senior citizen in this predicament. These kinds of increases hurt everyone. A fairer way to charge everyone would be by their usage. It also helps if you calculate cubic feet into gallons to see exactly what you are paying for. That’s not defined in your breakdown. The three council people who voted in favor of this rate increase should take a step back and not vote on this again because they voted without the proper information. If you aren’t informed you should have a vote in anything except items that involve yourself, not everyone in our community.
Thank you for listening to me and please include this in the public record and I am unable to attend Monday night’s meeting.
