Toledo High scored twice to take the lead in the top of the fourth inning and added three runs in the seventh to overcome freshman Chloe Peterson's second home run in as many games Thursday and hand the Taft High softball team its first loss of the season.
The Taft High softball team opened its quest for another deep run into the State playoffs Monday with a 12-2 five-inning nonleague home victory over Gervais.
For most coaches, losing two first-team all-league softball players who were honored with All-State recognition would be impossible cleats to fill. Taft High’s Sandy Stuart is cognizant of that.
“This building will have a positive impact on generations of softball players to come,” Stuart said. “It will give our program an edge and give us the tools needed to develop some amazing athletes.”
A Site Plan Review meeting for a Taft High softball batting practice building has been scheduled for 10 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 27, in the Northwest Conference Room at City Hall, 801 SW Highway 101.
