City Council to discuss 4th of July for 2026

Drone display 2025

On Monday December 1, 2025 the City of Lincoln City City Council will convene a Special Meeting to discuss plans for the 2026 Fourth of July celebrations.

As this was a hotly debated topic after the traditional fireworks display was replaced with a drone display in 2025, now is a time to begin offering input.

Special Meetings do not normally include a time for public comment so if you have an opinion on the matter, you should reach out to their respective Ward representatives at https://www.lincolncity.org/government/contact-us

  1. Real fireworks please. Drone show was not viewable from all spots as fireworks are. There are enough changes in our world can we have this celebration stay traditional?

  2. Real fireworks please! Your attempt to worship at the alter of climate change made zero climate difference, cost the tax payers about $50K more than fireworks, and produced a pathetic 10 minute display of slow moving lights.

  3. This will be the 250th year and celebration of our country. It needs to be celebrated with real fireworks.we need to make sure it’s in newspapers, Facebook, advertisements, any way possible to get the word out that Lincoln City is alive and well and celebrates our great United States.
Last year wasn’t just a flop, it was a disaster. It turned people off who not visit but those who live here. Most of the people several of us heard from were so put off said that if that was what Lincoln City had to offer, they would never come back.
With that in mind Lincoln City must redouble it’s effort to make 2026 a Fire Cracker of a Fourth of July.

  4. Real fireworks please! Traditional July 4th safely executed by fire department over the water for the community to enjoy from up close to afar is so special.

  5. As a taxpayer in Lincoln City I want to go on record as saying that the Drone show of 2025 was a mistake by epic proportions. Although it was pleasant to see for that bleating moment. However when I found out what our city counsel paid for this “cartoon short” I was angry. I go to every city council meeting if I’m able. I like to know what is needed in our town and where it is going. Our town needs alot of work that needs to be taken care of. Our taxpayers money needs to go for fixing the wear and tear that Lincoln City itself has been going through for years now. The fireworks cost much less than the drones, and it’s safely done by our city and our fire dept. The extra money we would be saving, can go where the tax payer money was intended for…the up-keep on the town we live in. I love Lincoln city, I’ve lived here for 38 years, and I remember how well this city took care of the important things. So let’s decide to once again take pride in our town. We dont need to pay lots of money for a “cartoon short”. When we can enjoy what we’ve done for many years before. Fireworks all the way! I want to hear the excitement when a child sees the fireworks, the ooooo’s and the awwwww’s. I want our future generation to remember that fireworks were our four fathers way of celebrating our “America” We can save money by NOT doing the drones, and put that saved money to good use…fixing our city’s major issues.
