Dick Anderson narrowly led a hotly contested race for Lincoln City mayor that was too close to call late Tuesday when the final printout of results was released at approximately 11 p.m.
Several candidates seeking support for the offices of Lincoln County mayor, commissioner and treasurer drew a large turnout Sunday for a public political forum at Chinook Winds Casino Resort.
Central Coast Builders, Inc. owner and City Council candidate Jim Davis has withdrawn from the Ward 1 election race, City Recorder Cathy Steere reported in an email.
Three candidates will run for Mayor and eight will vie for council positions Nov. 6 in the general election, according to a news release issued Thursday, Aug. 30.
The Mayor's position on Council as well as three council seats in wards 1, 2 and 3, have terms that will expire on December 31, 2018. An election for these positions will be on the General Election Ballot for November 6, 2018.
